2.⁠ ⁠ECRL Cargo Service to Replace 79 Lorries Per Trip, Spur Line to Kuantan Port Confirmed
Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah confirmed that a 45-wagon ECRL cargo train carries up to 3,150 tonnes per journey. Industrial hubs along the alignment and a dedicated spur line into Kuantan Port are also planned, with 24.3 million tonnes projected to shift from road to rail by 2050.

Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah announced the ECRL is projected to generate RM80 to 90 billion in cumulative GDP value-added by 2047, driven by 21 Economic Accelerator Projects, including a logistics hub in Temerloh, Pahang, and the Perodua logistics hub in Paya Besar, Kuantan, due by 2029.
